Ariana Grande is not only a vet in Hollywood and an expert at holding space, but also a fashion icon.
The actor-turned-musician-turned-actor again graced yet another red carpet on Friday, January 3, bringing in the year 2025 with what’s likely her first of many awards for Wicked. Grande accepted the Rising Star award at the Palm Springs International Film Festival Awards for her role as Glinda. Grande was presented with the award by her fellow actor-friend (and impression muse) Jennifer Coolidge.
Grande joked that since she’s been performing since she was a child, she never would have thought that at age 31 she’d be receiving a rising star award.
“I want to start by thanking my good friends Botox and Juvederm,” she joked. “I thought I’d be hearing ‘Slightly Withering Star’ or ‘Drooping Star’ by now, so thank you.”
While her talent as Glinda in Wicked is being measured in rave reviews and now awards, her dedication to style over the last few months also deserves recognition. For this special night, Grande wore a regal Louis Vuitton gown to keep the Good Witch alive.
Instead of floating down in a bubble, Grande wore the bubble. The light chrome green strapless dress hung down to her feet. She paired the gown with white pointed-toe shoes, a diamond choker necklace, and diamond stud earrings.
Grande kept her glam consistent with her long lashes, light matte makeup, and a pink lip. This time, she showcased her small bangs, which were pushed to the side in an Audrey Hepburn-like swoop.
Ariana Grande’s style throughout the Wicked press tour has been a mixture of ultra-feminine, pink, tulle, pink, classic, pink, and more pink. While she decided to skip the pink for one night, the bubble was still reminiscent of her beloved character.
“Though Glinda the good is full of frivolous humor and witty punchlines, comedy is just another way of telling the truth,” Grande continued in her speech. “She has an innate ability to make light out of darkness, even when there is pain, and I’m so grateful to have lived in that, to have learned so much from her over these past three years.”
